Whilst the AUIU UK is dedicated to supporting its members in the UK, it has never shied away from charitable calls for assistance from back home in Agbarho, Nigeria. 

In 2022 working with one accord and with determined efforts under the then Presidency of Mr Isaac Anighoroh, the AUIU UK rallied its members to raise substantial funds for the renovation of the dilapidated and much neglected Maternity Ward of the Agbarho General Hospital.

In what could had been a monumental disaster, a petrol laddened truck accidentally caught fire in June 2022 in the middle of Agbarho, however with an heroic calmness of mind, Mr Ejiro Otarigho drove the burning truck out of the town to a secluded location, away from danger and nobody was harmed nor was any life lost. In recognition for such a rare act of bravery, the AUIU UK, represented by Engineer Eric Obada, presented Mr Oterigho a Bravery Award and the sum of N100,000.

Presentation of a Cheque by AUIU President to the UPU UK President on 15/10/2023

On the 15th of October 2023, at the UPU general meeting, AUIU UK again led the way as this first UK Urhobo Kingdom Union to make a contribution and purchase shares for the future URHOBO HOUSE. 

A cheque of £5,500.00 was presented by the President of AUIU UK to Chief Ejiro Uwhujabo, the National President of UPU UK.
